About

Prepare for a hybrid of fast-paced casino action and relaxed family game with 5Roll. On the one hand, you’ve got the poker-style scoring system, the felt table, and all the ambiance you would expect in the casino setting. On the other hand, you’ve got gameplay and pieces that remind you of one of your favorite genres, yatzy games, that we have an entire category dedicated to. We found that the combination of these two makes for a sweet, hard-to-put-down experience. You’ve got the high action of a dice-slinging poker challenge, but the chill vibe of a no-stakes board game. The one thing we recommend for players to add onto this game if they like the casino-style action is to start a pot! Take turns with someone else, bet using poker chips, macaroni noodles or whatever else, and see who wins. Of course, it doesn’t have to be so competitive. You could just enjoy the game for what it is, which we highly recommend as well.

How to Play

It may seem a little intimidating when you first saunter your way into this player interface, because there are five dice and a 3-column scoring table on the right side of the screen, but the rules of 5Roll online are actually pretty straightforward.

Rules

Here’s how the game works. You have five dice to throw, and three rolls total. After each roll, you decide which dice you want to hold and which dice you want to roll again. After your rolls are up, you choose the greatest score you can from the table on the right, which describes which kinds of hands you created. For example, if you roll three times, and you end up with a 5, 5, 5, 6, and 4, you should choose the “3 of a kind” score, because the individual points for the “6” or the “4” won’t be as much. If you get a really good hand before your three rolls are up, then you can just stop rolling and declare your score at that point. Make sense? Just roll, try to create good hands, and score up what you get! Let’s see how hot that dice-throwing hand of yours is in 5Roll.
